LFW: It’s A Great Time To Be A Girl

I must admit that my own personal style is overly feminine, I love a blush pink style maxi skirt,  an english rose style skater. . but, often, I forgo my loves because they simply aren’t fitting for a particular point in fashion.  This is why I am so happy to report from London Fashion Week the obviously shift towards the more girly.

Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou brought to us skater swing dresses in all over splash prints.  The length was short, the cut was totally feminine, summer in a dress.

Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson showcased chili reds, tangerine oranges, canary yellows with cobalt blues.  Amongst the colour explosion he added diamantes and delicate lace, as Matthew Williamson describes himself:

“Hand-dyed, hand-cut, hand-beaded lace”

TopShop Unique

While Williamson and Katrantzou were undoubtedly lady-like TopShop Unique was much younger.  She is the little sister who parties all night on the beach and wakes up looking like she had a full 12 hours – sunkissed and freckled. The collection was a day to night, bright and summary – easy to wear, easy to love.  Ultimately very feminine.

It’s a great time to be a girl.
